TOPIC: Consent & Confidentiality in School-Based Health Care

How do schools and school-based health centers (SBHCs) work together to serve students while navigating Washington state and federal laws around consent and confidentiality? This session will provide an overview of Washington state minor consent laws, HIPAA vs. FERPA in school-based health care, and how schools and SBHCs manage these issues contractually and in day-to-day practice. There will be time for Q&A.
