DOH has two programs that provide free naloxone kits.
For schools: Public high schools, alternative high schools, and specialized programs serving grades 9-12 can receive two free naloxone kits through the 2024 – 2025 school year. These naloxone kits are intended to be used for school staff to respond to suspected opioid overdoses on campus or at school events. Eligible schools or programs should contact their educational school district for more information about naloxone distribution, including initial orders and refills.
For students: DOH partnered with Open Doors Youth Reengagement Programs to provide free naloxone for distribution to students during the 2024 – 2025 school year. Open Doors Youth Reengagement Programs that wish to receive free naloxone to distribute to students must complete the Naloxone Program Application by March 1, 2025.
