These grant awards are made possible through funding from the Washington State Legislature through SHB 1225 (2021), which aims to expand and sustain SBHCs in Washington for K-12 students in public schools with a focus on communities and populations that have been historically underserved. We expect to award:

  • 1 planning grant ($50,000) to plan for a new SBHC in a community or school where one does not currently operate
  • 6-9 operations grants ($100,000-$150,000) to sustain, improve, or expand operations at an existing SBHC

Potential applicants can begin preparing for the application now by:

  • Identifying how an SBHC project could improve a need in their community
  • Reviewing the DOH SBHC Grant Requirements
  • Collecting letters of support from partners, including:
    • School/school district administration and supporting staff
    • Community organizations or members that represent the community or population served by the SBHC
