The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has announced the School-based service sites (SBSS) funding opportunity. This is the $5 million that was included in the year-end COVID relief bill.
Overview
Fiscal year (FY) 2021 School-Based Service Sites (SBSS) funding is available for Health Center Program award recipients on a competitive basis. SBSS funding will expand access to health center services by increasing the number of patients who access comprehensive primary health care services through Health Center Program service delivery sites located at schools.
Health centers will accomplish this by:
- adding new Health Center Program service delivery sites at schools, or
- expanding comprehensive primary health care services at existing Health Center Program service delivery sites located at schools.
One-time funding will be available in year 1 for equipment purchases and minor alterations and renovations (A/R) (with or without equipment purchases).
