Training: Part 2- Trauma-Informed Approaches in SBHCs

Join the Washington School-Based Health Alliance (WA SBHA) for a two-part training series featuring presenters from the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA). This series focuses on engaging trauma-informed approaches in school-based health centers (SBHCs) for both in-person and telehealth settings.

• Part 2 will build on Part 1, going deeper into trauma-informed practices for in-person and telehealth care. This session will be shaped in part by the questions and discussion that come out of Part 1, so content may evolve based on what participants want to explore further.

Diana Cockrell, Section Manager (Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA), brings a deep passion for empowering those who support young people, helping them feel confident meeting youth exactly where they are – with compassion, clarity, and the strength to hold essential boundaries. Her work is shaped by years alongside young people with big energy, witnessing how fear can unintentionally communicate “there’s no help for you.” She is driven by an unwavering belief that when adults understand their role in creating psychological safety, we unlock the full potential of the next generation through trauma‑informed, deeply engaged connection.
